Electronic Music Production
As of right this second I should be working on my analysis outline for my song that's due tomorrow (or technically today if you want to get picky with the time being 12:06am), but as I try and think of songs and one's that I really like with deep meaning, I'm having trouble. You see, a lot of the music that I listen to is today's electronic music. I've listened to so much it actually inspired me to learn how to make it and wow is there a lot of information that people don't know about this kind of music. I know some people have their opinions about electronic music and how it's not actually "music" but I'd like to argue that it is in fact "music" and that if you don't like it. then that's fine, but to call it not music is wrong. There is so much that goes into it music theory-wise and knowing what you're doing as a composer is important as well. A lot of people say that since you don't have to play an instrument that making the music is a lot easier. This is just an ignorant statement made by many who have absolutely no idea how electronic music is made. It actually is a very technical field and you have to know what you're doing in order to successfully create a song, much like composing a song with any other instrument. Here's a video if you'd like to more about this argument. He does a very good job of explaining what I mean. Enjoy!
