ROW THE BOAT

The time has come where out football team has won every single football game this season. What an exciting time for all of us but especially you freshmen for coming into college with no idea how it's gonna go and then boom! Our football team is undefeated. Shit is hype as hell. Did you know that four years ago they went 1-11? I know it sounds like a joke and that's because it is. We were actually 1-11 THREE years ago. Gotcho asses. But anyways, if you plan to celebrate tonight do so recklessly and ruthlessly. Just kidding please don't do that. Stay safe but party hard my fellow peers. Row that boat. Stay cool, peace.

I need recipe Ideas

Living on my own with no roommates is really nice so far. The only problem I'm running into is that I don't have anyone to give me ideas for cooking food. I have been trying my best to get creative with the food that I have but I'm running out of ideas. I guess I could buy a cookbook but I'd rather hear people's ideas before I resort to that just because I'm curious to see what people have to say. I eat pretty much everything besides mushrooms or olives. Those two things cannot be in my food anywhere or else it's not getting eaten. I'm sure there's others out there who feel the same way about other foods! So please comment any ideas that you might have for me. I'm down for anything really. Thank you in advance :)

Electronic Music Production

As of right this second I should be working on my analysis outline for my song that's due tomorrow (or technically today if you want to get picky with the time being 12:06am), but as I try and think of songs and one's that I really like with deep meaning, I'm having trouble. You see, a lot of the music that I listen to is today's electronic music. I've listened to so much it actually inspired me to learn how to make it and wow is there a lot of information that people don't know about this kind of music. I know some people have their opinions about electronic music and how it's not actually "music" but I'd like to argue that it is in fact "music" and that if you don't like it. then that's fine, but to call it not music is wrong. There is so much that goes into it music theory-wise and knowing what you're doing as a composer is important as well. A lot of people say that since you don't have to play an instrument that making the music is a lot easier. This is just an ignorant statement made by many who have absolutely no idea how electronic music is made. It actually is a very technical field and you have to know what you're doing in order to successfully create a song, much like composing a song with any other instrument. Here's a video if you'd like to more about this argument. He does a very good job of explaining what I mean. Enjoy!

League of Legends

I'm sure there are a lot of you guys who have no idea or care about the professional life of videos games. The time of our lives where video games becoming a professional thing is upon us. There are millions of people watching these games online at once. One specific game that is having it's world championship right now is League of Legends. I know this name may bring negative connotation with it since I used to bash on it a lot when I was younger. Last year I started playing it as a joke with my roommate where we would just get drunk and play it. It has peaked my interest since I learned it is a game of extreme strategy and mechanical game play. Being a gamer most of my life, I can appreciate what these professionals are going through and encourage the advertising of the championship. The finals are next week and I could not be anymore excited. These guys from around the world dedicate all their time to practicing such a game. They play around 12-14 hours a day. These guys deserve a lot more than what they get. E-sports or "electronic-sports" is among us and is only growing. I advise everyone to become aware of the times and not bash on video games as much as they are bashed upon since the times are changing.

Rolo Update

So since the adoption of my furry friend, Rolo, she has become very comfortable with living with me. She doesn't do much besides eat and sleep, but every now and then she will get a burst of energy and just run around the apartment for ten minutes or so just hitting everything in sight with her paws. I haven't had a cat for a while so I forgot these things. We had to put down my old cat when I was a sophomore in high school and that cat lived to be 22 years old. I've been thinking about it and Rolo is going to be with me for a long time. I look very forward to learning more about her and once I get myself a USB drive I will upload pictures of her. She is adorable and hopefully soon you guys can see what she looks like once I get a USB drive so hang on tight!

Meeting New People

Meeting new people can be an interesting time depending on the kinds of people you meet of course. I know a lot of you are freshmen and the idea of making new friends may seen kind of foreign to you especially after being friends with your home town friends for so long. The best advice I could give to you guys is to get out there and meet as many people as you can. Obviously keep up with your school and don't fall behind because that is really not a fun place to be and trust me, I've been there. The networking you get out of meeting people is incredible. I'm only talking about this because I just met a really nice group of people this past week and it reminded me that there are some really cool people out there and getting to know them might just pay off in the future. Also having a variety of friends is nice too but once you find your squad you'll know what's up. So just get out there and see what kind of people you'll meet! Definitely well worth it.

Good Will Prevail
THE TIME IS FINALLY HERE

I've been waiting almost a whole year for Griz's new album, "Good Will Prevail", to be released it was just released this past Friday on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and the google play store. I got it as soon as I woke up and wow are there many many many good things that have to be said about the music. The reason I like the album so much is because it definitely sounds like the music that I was expecting but also there's so many new sounds and techniques used in this album that are completely different and new compared to his other albums. It all sounds original and I think after this album, he's going to attract a lot more fans due to the diversity of the music. There are some songs with long, slow, saxophone solos and then there's other parts that are just a blast for funky, soul, listening individuals like myself. I recommend giving some of it a listen in your free time. Here's a link to the album. I hope one of them stands out to at least one person and raises some attention :)
